Happy New Year!
I began my New Year's celebrations early by making an insane amount of chicken stock. There's nothing better than homemade chicken stock... as long as you have enough containers! I just about ran out of bowls as I was straining the stock, but now it's all safely stowed away in the fridge, waiting for transfer to the freezer. :)
I also took advantage of the simmering time of the stock to teach a certain someone to knit... someone who is really quite good, and who is stubborn enough to not give up until the skill is mastered. :)
I also finished the Knit Happens socks - just in time for the new year, and also in time for me to help out with inventory duty at the shop next week! I used 1 skein of the Lorna's Laces in the "Knit Happens" colorway (available at the shop!), and a simple slip stitch pattern. They come just above my ankles, and I love them! :)
I've cast on for my next pair - "Leila's Socks" from Nancy Bush's "Folk Knitting in Estonia" book. I think I'm in love!
On this unseasonably warm (65 degree!) January 1st, Cricket reminds you of the importance of carefully inspecting your shower head. You never know what dangers may lurk in the plumbing! :)
Happy 2005!
