i am not an idiot!!!Today was judgment day here in law-school land... the day we get (in my case) some of our grades. I'm still waiting on 2 classes, but I can safely say that I am NOT an idiot, and I haven't just wasted $50,000 of loan money. :)Speaking of law school, they have apparently decided that actually HEATING the classrooms when the temperatures dip below 20 is optional, so I spend each day in class freezing. My solution (besides wearing an insane amount of clothing, including 2 pairs of socks?) Fingerless mitts, a la Wendy... although truthfully I didn't wait for her to post her pattern, I just made it up. I still have to knit mitt number 2, but I'm loving the first one! I'm using the leftover Artyarns supermerino from my ipod cover - I'll probably have to dip into a second skein for the second mitt, but not by much. (cough cough - did I say 'second skein?' Why yes... I couldn't just leave those last 2 skeins of that colorway on the shelves, now could I?) The mitts, knit in soft, squishy wool, are a nice change from Mariah - that Calmer may look and feel great, but I have to pull it so tight in the transitions between k's and p's that I give my hand quite a beating. But I'll keep chugging along, confident that once I make it to the body, there will be miles of well-behaved stockinette. And perhaps, if it snows as much as they're predicting, I can hide under the covers all weekend and knit. :) 0 comments || # |
